Gazprom will continue talks with Ukraine on 12 December after failing to reach an agreement on debt repayments.

After meeting with Oleg Dubina, Chairman of the Board of NAK Naftogaz Ukrainy Alexey Miller, Gazprom Management Committee Chairman told Vesti-24: “The debt issue is still open, as is the issue of signing a contract for 2009 gas deliveries.”

Dubina told Vesti-24 that Naftogaz was in talks with the IMF and a number of banks on raising the cash to repay Gazprom.

Dubina told Platts: "I think the main problem that we have now is that we owe Gazprom for the consumed gas.”
